You will receive 4 weeks free insurance from our insurance supplier Petplan when you purchase one of our kittens.
Any breeder who offers 4 weeks free insurance with kittens must comply with the Kitten Charter of Petplan:
About the breeder: 1 I have bred and own the litter. 2 I have never been and am not currently the subject of any investigations by any local authority, trading standards or other regulatory body. 3 I accept that Petplan continually monitors claims made on Instant Kitten Policies and if there are consistently high levels of claims for the kittens I have sold, Petplan has the right to amend orwithdraw my authority to issue Instant Kitten Policies. 4 I understand that Instant Kitten Policies cannot be issued to me, any member of my family, anyone who lives with me, or any person employed as part of the breeding business. 5 I understand that it is my responsibility to inform Petplan if I no longer comply with any aspect of this charter. 6 I understand that Petplan has the right to amend or withdraw my authority to issue Instant Kitten Policies at any time.
About the queen: (Always check this because your insurance may not be valid if the breeder hasn't complied) 1 The queen has not had more than three litters in any two-year period, and has been given suffi cient time to recover body weight and condition between litters.
About the kittens: 1 I am satisfied to the best of my knowledge and veterinary advice in my possession that all kittens sold:
Are in good health and have not knowingly been exposed to any infectious or contagious disease. Show no sign of infestation by fleas, lice, mites or ringworm.
Are at least 6 weeks of age.
Have been socialised and handled regularly since birth.
2 Any illness or injury, or any clinical sign(s) of an illness or injury, which occurred prior to the date and time of collection by the kitten buyer, including any signs of congenital conditions or illnesses, will be fully disclosed to the kitten buyer before collection and to Petplan when activating the insurance cover.
3 Vaccinations:
Conventional (i.e. not homoeopathic) vaccinations will be used, and administered by a veterinary surgeon.
All kittens sold at the age of 12 weeks or older will have been given at least their 1st vaccination and thereafter appropriately vaccinated in accordance with a veterinary surgeon’s advice.
Where appropriate a vaccination certifi cate must be given to each kitten buyer and this must be signed by a veterinary surgeon and show the date(s) the vaccination(s) was given.
4 Worming:
All kittens must be wormed at least twice before sale. Each kitten buyer will be provided with written confirmation, signed by me, showing the dates of worming and the brand of wormer used.
5 If I am selling the kitten as registered with an association/club, the kitten will be registered with the association/club by me prior to sale. I will provide the kitten buyer with a signed form in the association’s/club’s approved format.
6 Any defects or any other matters which a breeder of reasonable experience might consider to be relevant to a kitten buyer’s decision to purchase the kitten in accordance with good industry practice will be pointed out to the kitten buyer.
Kitten buying tips:
Always check all documentation when purchasing a kitten is legal and relevant. If you are promised a TICA Registered kitten then do not accept the kitten withouth the TICA paperwork.
Do your homework and also get references as a lot of kittens have false paperwork or they do not legally own the cat they have bred from.
NEVER send money to someone via wire transfer/ Western Union as it is known to be used by scammers.
Always pay directly via your bank to their bank account and be given a receipt.
Make sure you have a look at the pedigree before you pay a deposit on the kitten to make sure you are happy with it before you buy for breeding!
Ask to see kittens from the Queen and Sire to evaluate how your kitten could potentially look when older.
